A Safe Water Supply, a safe water supply sure is critical to protecting publie health, is the first obligation of all water suppliers. Without the modern water systems, diseases such as cholera and dysentery would be part of our everyday life.

In the United States, water utilities are monitored for more than 100 contaminanta and must meet close to 90 regulations for water safety and quality. Those water standards are among the world's most stringent.
A Safe Water Supply, States usual also require utilities to meet additional standards. Community water supplies are tested evey day. Tap water undergoes far more frequent testing than bottled water. Many North American water systems add small amounts of fluoride to their water supplies to help prevent tooth decay. Kid's cavity rates have been reduced b6y 20 to 40 % where fluoridation has been implemented.

Dale, We can't stay too safe with our drinking water supply. I must say that it is among the safest in the world...
Helping you live your American dream...
Thanks Dale, speaking of that I need to test my well water again. Thanks for the reminder.
Hi Dale, as you already know, water is a huge concern here in Texas and T.Boone Pickens (very big in oil) is now buying up water rights in various parts of the state and elsewhere. Water is our most valuable resource and must be protected.!
I am in agreement with all of the above. Water is sacred and must be protected. We want it to be safe to drink. Everyone can certainly appreciate water since we have been on water restrictions for a good while with the Texas drought. Fortunately the rain came just in time to save us for awhile and maybe the drought is behind us.

Did y'all know that only three percent of the tap water the folks of the US use on a typical day is used for drinken. The rest goes for watering outdoors, bathroom uses, clothes wasgen, and the like.
Americans tap into about 341 billion gallons of tap water each and every day of their life. Total water use, for both indoor and outdoor, in a typical single family home is 101 gallons per capita per day.
Thank you to each of ya, for each of your fine comments.
Dale,
Good topic and good points. Sometimes I think that we take our fresh water for granted, and we should not.

Some folks, seem to thing that no matter what, Mother Earth will always be able to give us, everything we will alway need. They need to stop and think, we need to take care of Mother Earth and all she gives us to use.
Dale,
contaminanta...
Now there's a word I've never seen. I understand it though. LOL

Do y'all know, that the original reason community water systems, were built. It was not at all so communitys would have safe drinking water. But it was in order to fight fires.
Dale,
One of these days I am going to take some classes on wells. Almost all inspections around here are public water, but a few wells pop up. I do very basic inspections of them, but always recommend a well professional.

I get to see a lot of homes with a well and with a public water system coming into them. I was luck to have learned about them before moving here.
Another good article about things that home owners and others need to think about.
